About This Spot

Stepping into El Triunfo, you immediately sense the warmth of a close-knit family kitchen brought to life in the heart of Northfield. There’s an inviting hum here—voices layered over the soft clatter of dishes and the occasional sizzle from the kitchen—that settles you into a slower, more attentive rhythm. It’s the kind of place where time feels a little more patient, encouraging both locals and visitors to savor not just a meal, but the moments around it.

The atmosphere carries the casual comfort of a neighborhood eatery, yet it’s tinged with the vibrant pulse of authentic Mexican flavors and traditions. Colorful walls and personal touches hint at stories behind the recipes and the hands that make them, reflecting a pride in good food that’s both flavorful and generously portioned. Here, a burrito is more than a quick bite—it’s a spirited experience, rich with carefully balanced spices and fresh ingredients that invite you to linger and enjoy.

What makes El Triunfo linger in memory is how the flavors meld with genuine hospitality. Whether you’re drawn in by the promise of a creamy green sauce with a kick or the comfort found in slow-cooked barbacoa on weekends, each dish reveals a thoughtful layering of tastes and textures meant to nourish both body and spirit. The menu feels like an open invitation to explore—small plates and hearty mains alike crafted with an unmistakable sense of care and celebration.

Beyond the food, it’s the kindness in the service and the easy camaraderie among diners that shape the experience here. This isn’t just a stop on a road trip; it’s a place that feels like a shared discovery, where local life and culture unfold one flavorful bite at a time.

The prices have gone up everywhere, but this $10 burrito is still the size of a human infant. The spice level of the pastor is also just right, enough to sweat and sting, but not enough to stop me from eating.

Lovely spot! I got chicken quesadillas and a drink for just 14 bucks. They were packed with meat, plus I got a spicy sauce and a side salad. The staff was super kind and helpful. 10/10.

My partner and I stopped here for a bite on a road trip and we fell in love! You can tell it's a family owned business and they take great pride in putting love in their food. I personally loved the creamy green sauce, it's got some whoop ass to it but the flavor is amazing! So good we brought some home for our family to try. Definitely will be back!

Great food and and very friendly staff. Most people do takeout but there are a few tables for those who wish to dine in. A cute mom and pop place. I recommend checking them out.

Best Mexican food in nfld and it's not even close. Burrito, tacos, and tamales are consistently very good. Prices are also good.
